Accelerating equality and inclusion in technology
Arnold currently works as a Finance Accountant in the EMEA Finance team for Netflix. He is based out of the Amsterdam office and is looking after the ever-growing list of Netflix streaming, Netflix content support, and Netflix production entities in the EMEA region. Prior to this, Arnold worked as the Central Finance Manager in the Group Control team at Liberty Global before taking up his latest role.
Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Arnold moved to the United Kingdom at 6 with his family. He studied Business Management and Economics at De Montfort university, and also holds a Masters in Banking and Finance from Loughborough University.
Arnold lives and breathes football. Meaning that when he’s not playing, he’s watching (Man Utd to be specific). He also enjoys playing squash, travelling and attempting to learn new languages.
Arnold is passionate about DE&I and has previously worked with WICT and the Black Pride charity to host events on Institutional Racism and celebrating black history month from an intersectional standpoint.
Tosca is currently working as Business Controller in VodafoneZiggo in the B2C team, looking over hollandsnieuwe and Vodafone Prepaid. Working with the Marketing and Pricing teams, she is responsible for reviewing and approving all commercial activities and promotions.
Born and raised in Italy, she got her MSc in Business Management from Universitá Bocconi, and then flew to the Netherlands, where she has now put down roots.
When she is not lost in her Excel world, Tosca tries to maintain a 50/50 balance between keeping active and enjoying some relaxing me time: you can either find her at the gym with her game face on, or laying down in a park with a book (from Greek mythology to Harari’s trilogy, anything will do). Either way, her day would not be complete without pit-stop at a nice café or bistro, even after four years in Amsterdam, she is still exploring and finding new places to try out.
Succeeding Abbe as Membership chair was an unexpected challenge that Tosca is gladly taking on, and she is looking forward to making WICT Europe even more tailored to our current members’ needs, and to showing those who are not members yet why entering the WICT network is the perfect choice.
Nadia currently works as Senior Manager CVP Connectivity Products for Liberty Global. Working in partnership with customer insights and technology, she is responsible for crafting connectivity customer value propositions and translating them into go-to-market strategies. Prior to this, Nadia worked in Consumer Strategy and B2B before taking up her latest role.
Originally from Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, she holds a degree in Business Economics with Italian from the University of Manchester.
Outside the office, Nadia enjoys keeping fit, in particular spinning and weight lifting. Always on the lookout for her next challenge, you may catch her running a half marathon or completing a duathlon for charity. Having studied and worked in Italy at the Università di Pisa, she also has a love for great food and wine.
Nadia is responsible for Marketing and Digital Communications, where she combines her passion for seeking progressive communication strategies whilst also acting as an ambassador for diversity and inclusion.
Pim Brouwers is a diversity and inclusion manager at VodafoneZiggo and focuses with his team on the following areas of attention: gender, LGBT +, ethnic origin and labor participation of people who are at a distance from the labor market and / or work disabilities.
Pim has been working at VodafoneZiggo since 2012 and started as People Manager to set up a team that was involved in the construction and maintenance of the Ziggo network in the south of the Netherlands. In addition, he has been involved in culture changes, strategic partnerships and chain optimization. Since 2014, Pim has been asked by the Management Board to work out the effects of the Participation Act and to set up an HR D&I department.
He has a Social Legal background and has been active in the field of social security, youth, and reintegration in both government and industry. In addition, he has international experience in managing offshore projects in India.
Pim is a striking people manager, he gives people direction as well as space to develop and make the most of their talents. His main starting point is “What do you need to be successful”. Based on his personal driving spheres and passion for diversity and inclusion, Pim is committed to more then just women in technology as well as more women at the top of the business world.
Eke Vermeer is Vice President Public policy since 2019. Prior, she served for 4 years as Vice President Corporate Affairs, Chief of Staff Corporate Affairs and Director, Regulation & Public Policy. She moved to Liberty Global from UPC (now VodafoneZiggo) where she served for 7 years as Senior Manager Public Affairs and Corporate Responsibility.
She holds a master’s degree from the University of Groningen in International Relations and completed part of her studies at Willamette University in Oregon,USA. Eke completed WICT’s Senior Executive Summit at Stanford Graduate School of Business, attended the INSEAD Executive Leadership Program as well, as Corporate Communications from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
She is serving WICT Europe as the Vice President to fuel her passion for women leadership development. She has two children, serves as President of the PTA at their school, loves her dog Scout, and enjoys traveling and walking.
Eva is currently Director Product Strategy & Planning for Liberty Global. She is responsible for developing and securing the overall product strategy, as well as the product (financial) planning of Liberty Global. Before joining Liberty Global, Eva was Strategy Manager at a large Dutch media company Sanoma/SBS, where she was responsible for the women’s domain. She started her career as a Strategy Consultant at Deloitte.
Besides her professional development, Eva is very active at both the golf course and the local boxing dojo, where she combines a passion for speed, power and thinking ahead of the game. She lives in Hilversum, The Netherlands with her husband and daughter in close proximity to several hiking paths where they enjoy walking and the outdoors.
Eva currently acts as treasurer of the WICT Europe Chapter, where she combines her love for figures, analysis and structure with an active commitment to the continuous development of female leadership.
Soraya Loerts is leading Product Quality for Liberty Global, having previously served as their VP, Strategic Marketing & Customer Experience, and Director of Customer Excellence & Digital within B2B. She moved to Liberty Global from the former UPC Netherlands, where she served as Director of Omni-Channel Customer Care for more than two years, following multiple years at Dell and Cendris.
She completed WICT’s Senior Executive Summit at Stanford Graduate School of Business and, in 2017, graduated from the INSEAD Executive Leadership Program. Soraya obtained her BA in Management, Economics and Law from the Hanzehogeschool in Groningen and her Master’s degree in Business Transformation and Quality Management.
Soraya is married, enjoys travelling the world and spending time with her friends and family. She speaks English, Dutch, a little Indonesian and Italian and is learning to speak Spanish. She enjoys having big family dinners, going to concerts and staying fit both mentally and physically by running and cycling.
Soraya is currently President of the WICT Europe Chapter, after helping to launch the chapter and serving as the Vice President. With her strong passion for Diversity & Inclusion, Soraya wants to keep driving for a level playing field for women. Her committed leadership will ensure the chapter’s ongoing success.
Hannah is currently Corporate Affairs Analyst at Liberty Global, focusing on regulatory, policy and competition law issues. She previously worked as Speaker Director at Web Summit, curating social and political content at the world’s largest technology conference. She holds a degree in law and political science from Trinity College Dublin and a masters in European law from the University of Amsterdam.
As programming chair, Hannah seeks to provide WICT members with engaging, diverse events where they can learn, connect and be inspired to push for greater equality in the technology sector.
Originally from Ireland, Hannah relocated to Amsterdam in 2018. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, yoga and reading. She previously coached the Irish World Schools debating team and continues to coach and help out with student debating competition for where she can.
Su is Senior Marketing Director, International at CommScope. In this role, she is responsible for the delivery of regional marketing campaigns, events, and account-based marketing programs across APAC, EMEA, and LATAM. Prior to this, she led the global event teams at ARRIS and the Motorola Home division (acquired by ARRIS in 2013), delivering an extensive calendar of tradeshows, customer conferences, and internal events worldwide. Previous experience over her 20-year marketing career includes management roles at ntl: (now Virgin Media) and O2.
Su was an inaugural Board Member of the ARRIS Women´s Business Network, formed in 2016, and was instrumental in growing this organization to 1,000+ members strong, the launch of an Ambassador Program, driving regional activity across key member hubs, and establishing a company-wide mentoring program. She is passionate about providing growth, support and networking opportunities for women and young people working in the technology industry.
Su graduated from De Montfort University with a BA in Business Studies with a Marketing Specialisation. She relocated to Madrid from the UK in April 2014 and enjoys live music, theatre, and travel. Su keeps fit courtesy of two very active Labradors and takes advantage of the hiking trails which are at her doorstep.
With over 14 years of serving in a variety of EMEA Customer Service and Sales support roles and teams at Arris, Eefje is currently part of the Key Account Sales team at Commscope that is looking after Liberty Global and its affiliates.
In parallel, she has been enthusiastically volunteering as EMEA ambassador for the Arris/Commscope Women Business Network helping it expand (1000+ members globally), and foster an environment that promotes diversity, inclusion, and development across the organization. She has been key in driving the programming of it for the EMEA region.
She is excited about the WICT Europe project and its mission and loves to be able to make her contribution to have WICT grow its footprint in Europe.
Eefje holds a Master´s degree in Science and Technology Studies of the faculty of Art and Social Sciences of Maastricht University and attended a postgraduate program in the same field at the University of Edinburgh.
Her nationality is Dutch and since 2001 she is a Spanish citizen, living in beautiful Barcelona. She is the mother of 2 children. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and running in nature, loves art and literature, and tries out her vocal skills by singing in a choir.
Karen has spent more than 20 years in the cable and mobile telecommunications industry in various executive and consulting roles. Most recently she was Director of Business Transformation at VEON, where she was responsible for the design and delivery of great customer experiences, leveraging digital technologies across the VEON group. Prior to this role, she was Director of Customer Service Transformation at VEON, Investor & Founder for FTTH multiple start-ups in Germany, VP Supply Chain Management for Liberty Global Inc’s (LGI) European operations and a strategic management consultant at A.T. Kearney focused on the TMT industry.
Karen holds an MBA from Erasmus University, Rotterdam School of Management and BA’s in Economics and German from Smith College.
Curious to learn and experience other cultures, Karen has enjoyed traveling, studying and working abroad for most of her life. Originally from the USA, she is now a USA/Netherlands dual-national and lives in the Netherlands with her husband and their 2 children. In her spare time, she enjoys food & wine with family and friends, spending time outdoors either walking on the beach or playing sports, namely cycling and golf.
Karen is passionate about the advancement of women in the industry and aspires to help WICT Europe establish itself as a platform for learning, coaching, and networking.
Marieke is an Executive Director External Affairs, Member of the Executive Committee at VodafoneZiggo.
Marieke is an experienced Board Member with a demonstrated history of working in the telecommunications industry. Currently she is responsible for VodafoneZiggo’s overall reputation, including the corporate communication strategy and plan, press relations, public affairs, external relations, and CSR strategy.
Marieke is skilled in Public Affairs, Communication, PR, Corporate Social Responsibility, Political Science, and Government. She is a strong business development professional, graduated from INSEAD.
Agata is Manager CVP Portfolio Design for Liberty Global since 2017, where currently she is responsible for generating consumer insights and translating them into new value propositions. Prior to that, she was responsible for portfolio and pricing and go-to-market at UPC Poland.
She is passionate about new technologies and trends in the constantly changing consumer arena and is a believer in and practitioner of behavioural economics science. She created and lead the Nudge! programme, leveraging insights in human psychology around economic decisions and a/b testing for incremental revenue gains. Her educational background is Psychology, and an inherent interest in people helps her greatly at work.
As of April 2019, Agata is Chief of Staff for the President and Vice President at WICT Europe. Outside the office, she is dedicated to developing her passion for psychology as well as an interest in art and culture. When she is not traveling, she’s busy planning the next journey. She is a happy citizen of Amsterdam, where she lives with her partner.

She is serving WICT Europe as Vice President to help drive her passion for Diversity & Inclusion. Her leadership role as Vice President WICT Europe will ensure the chapter’s launch and ongoing success.
With over 20 years’ experience in entertainment and Pay TV marketing, Karen develops customer value propositions, content promotions and marketing communications strategy, with a deep understanding of multi-territory programme execution. Before her current role at Liberty Global Karen was with EMAP and ITV responsible for strategic B2B marketing planning.
Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in English at Teeside University in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom, and is a Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Karen leads Marketing & Communications at WICT Europe, collaborating with diversity advocates across the telecommunications industry for the inclusion of more women in leadership. Outside the office Karen loves literature, skiing and snowboarding, and is a keen (pre-dawn) runner.
Virginia is the Director of Communications at Cable Europe, the Brussels based industry body which promotes and defends the interests of broadband cable TV operators throughout the European Union. During her four years in this post, she has devised policy-led campaigns which have seen Cable Europe win the accolade for Best Use of Social Media by a Trade Association, and overseen Cable Congress in Brussels, Warsaw and Dublin.
Prior to her role with Cable Europe, she worked as consultant to a range of clients in the commercial sector, governments and the EU Institutions, advising on external relations and corporate affairs in environments as diverse as Brussels, Kosovo and the UAE.
A self-confessed TV junkie and box set binge-viewer, much of Virginia’s career has been spent in the broadcast media sector. She has held positions within Discovery Communications, where she was Director of Corporate Communications and Government Affairs for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and as Head of Corporate Affairs for the Granada Media Group. She began her career as spokesperson for the UK’s Independent Television Commission (OFCOM).
Virginia is co-chair of the European Association for Communications Directors working group for associations, and sits on the Board of CTAM Europe.
She holds a Masters Degree in Comparative Philology from the University of Oxford.
As Membership Co-Chair, Virginia will be assisting the chapter’s growth by introducing companies, executives and visionaries to WICT Europe.
Ann Montgomery has held many executive operations positions in the cable television and telecommunications industry for over 30 years. Since 2015, Ann has been overseeing a Pan European Customer Care Partnership Transformation project for Liberty Global, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In the US, Ann has been Regional Senior Vice President of Comcast Cable for the Southwest Region, Senior Vice President Adelphia Communications, Executive Vice President of Operations for AT&T Broadband, Executive Vice President of Operations for TCI Communications among other contributing industry roles.
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
Her 30 year WICT involvement includes a two-year term as the Chair for Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) Foundation’s Board of Trustees, also having served as Vice-Chair and Secretary of the Foundation. She received the NCTA’s coveted “Vanguard Award for Cable Operations Management” in 2004.
Her role as Co-Chair Membership WICT Europe will assist in building the Membership base and ensuring a prosperous foundation for future growth.
Emma is Vice President, People at Liberty Global. In this role, she is the Lead Business Partner for the Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Finance Officer and Chief People Officer covering all of the Central Functions and Global Finance teams. Emma relocated to Amsterdam from UK in August 2015. She contributes to business performance by providing strategic consulting on people strategies, organization design and development, and all other people specific or business-related initiatives, taking the internal and external context into account and leveraging relevant People Centers of Excellence.
Emma previously worked at Virgin Media (part of the Liberty Global family) for 2 years as People Director for the Customer Division (over 9,000 employees) supporting all Customer Contact, Sales, Field, Network Build, Network Expansion, and Business Provide Leadership teams.
Emma has worked in a variety of international roles, including Vodafone and Specsavers, and has successfully completed assignments in Ghana, West Africa, and Sweden.
Emma is a Fellow of the CIPD and completed the Advanced HR Executive Programme at Michigan University.
Emma is delighted to be the WICT Europe President and is passionate to create a great programme of events in 2019.
